Coulee Gems is a small, Canadian-owned artisan business locally operated out of Lethbridge, Alberta. What began as a fascination with shiny rocks and a deep appreciation for the rugged landscape of Southern Alberta has grown into a full-time pursuit of sharing one of our region’s most unique natural treasures.

We work in accordance with Alberta regulations to ensure every piece of ammolite we collect is properly submitted to the Royal Tyrrell Museum, where it is professionally examined by their team of paleontologists before a disposition number is issued, granting permission for the material to be processed.

Our goal is to help preserve both the landscape and the ammolite itself, a fragile gemstone highly susceptible to natural deterioration and oxidation if left exposed.

Every piece of ammolite is processed entirely in our shop from start to finish, and each silver setting is individually handcrafted to complement the unique character of the stone.
