Ammolite Negative Cap Display - CGSS2

Hand-sized negative cap display piece from the Bearpaw Formation of Southern Alberta. Bright green and gold fill the centre of the face, with orange and red toward the edges, on a thick natural matrix base.

Negative cap is the ammolite layer that stayed attached to the rock around the shell instead of the shell itself, showing the colour from the inside of the shell.

One of a kind.
